OpenClaw, Hermes, and any other AI systems are powerful tools. But they are not immune to problems. An update broke the config, skills stopped working, the agent is silent, and clients are not receiving responses.

What Breaks Most Often

1. After an update — Gateway does not start, config is unreadable
2. Skills stopped working — API changed, model updated
3. Agent is silent — heartbeat tasks have failed without notification
4. Prompt injection — the agent was "hacked" through a message
5. API cost overrun — the model eats up the budget on simple tasks
6. "Works on my machine" — works on dev, not on production
